Mike Whitehouse, RCT, BSc, BJourn, MEd, works with individuals, couples, and families across Canada. His approach is grounded in unconditional positive regard and a steady belief in each client’s capacity for growth. Drawing on decades of experience in education and private practice, he integrates trauma-informed care, addiction counselling, workplace assessment, and intervention in a practical, collaborative manner. A senior counsellor who still deeply enjoys his work, Mike attributes that longevity to decades alternating between counselling and serving as a yacht captain along the east coast of North America, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean. He spent a year in China developing a career counselling program for students. He is currently exploring thoughtful, ethical uses of artificial intelligence to support clinical efficiency while safeguarding therapeutic integrity.
